Find your 'Paper Plate Mate'
Posted: 11 Jun 2013
What an amazing weekend! I've put this special post together to show you a few of the new faces and friends we met on our stand for the launch of my new educational (but fun) children's allergy book series at The Allergy + Free From show, Olympia, London.
We loved hosting story time and the creative craft activity that every child could get involved with and enjoy. But, what blew me away more was seeing and hearing, children ask each other about their allergies, whilst they all enjoyed making Paper Plate Mates together, colouring and sticking eyes on plates (and some not even stopping at just one pair of eyes - brilliant alien fruit bats arose).
We tried so hard to capture as many Paper Plate Mates as we could above, but I know so many more wonderful creations were made. Especially Saturday - whooaaaa, that was a bit of a blur - to say it was busy is an understatement. But I hope you had just as much fun as we did making them with you!
Big thank you for all the feather fluffing comments I've received already, from creating an experience children could enjoy while being at the show. Here are just a few...
"By the way BIG thanks for being uniquely the only adult to engage the kids with something at The Allergy Show that wasn't food! Great to have something fun for them!"
"Hi Hailey, it was lovely to meet you at the show and your stand was fantastic for children! We love Allergy Adventures and so do our kids!!!! Love from, Freefromforkids"
"Hi:) We met at the Allergy Show (I'm the one who couldn't decide whether to get Dairy or Egg-free book!). Just wanted to say how brilliant your books are. My 2 year old has already read them with me 4 times and I only got home twelve hours ago! She loves them and so do I. Thank you:) xxx"
"We came to the show on Saturday and met you guys, my little girl had big fun making lots of faces to show daddy...and we brought one of your books which was fab as she read it to me on the train home, kept us both amused...hope to see you again sometime, keep up the fab work xx"
"I just wanted to say that my son, loved his Allergy adventure to the Circus! I bought the book at The Allergy Show as my son has multiple allergies (anaphylaxis) and our youngest 9 month son is also allergic (we don't know how severe as yet). He has already grasped that the focus is on what he can eat. Thanks very much for such a wonderful idea and your great website"
*Open mouthed, mind blown* Thank you so much again for making this weekend an unforgettable one. Enjoy the hunt above with your child, searching for their Paper Plate Mate and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.comments powered by Disqus
